Let’s be Perfectly Clear.
January 6th was a riot and violent attack on our elected government leaders in order to overthrow the results of an election and so to overthrow our US Government.
A mob of thousands of protestors, incited to march to the capital by the losing president attacked our capital building, attacked the Capital Police force causing over 100 injuries, and broke into the capital with guns and even used a US flag as a weapon.
Our duly elected congress feared for their lives and a few came dangerously close to being caught by a blood-thirsty armed and violent crowd. If that’s not an act of sedition, I don’t know what is.
Acts of Sedition
To Believe that the words of DJT, on that occasion, and on many occasions since he lost the election was not “conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch” is Pure Fantasy, Lunacy or Denial!!.
Congress had only certified 12 votes when they were forced to halt their most sacred duty of insuring a peaceful transfer of power. Our duly elected officials on both sides of the aisle had to flee for their lives from an armed rebellion of Donald Trump supporters attempting to take control of our federal government by force. Those are facts! We saw them playing out in real time. To believe they were anything else is not only delusional but extremely harmful to our democracy and future freedoms.
The same people who decried the destruction of property, looting and violence of the BLM protests over the summer engaged in violence, destruction and looting their own federal government. That’s a Fact!
It seems like most Americans have poo poohed what happened as not a Big Deal but, I believe those responsible at the highest levels must be brought to Justice! To let this act of Sedition and insurrection go unchecked would be a Massive Mistake! We must stand up to Demand Accountability!
The Big Lie, Greed and Power
The Big Lie was ready to go on Day One. In fact, The Big Lie was already used in the 2016 election. DJT repeated over and over that the election was rigged before the election began, during the election and even continued after he’d won to make his followers believe he’d won even more than he had.
They say that Power Corrupts and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely. Could this be any more true than in the governing halls of the most powerful country in the world?
Congress was in recess for several hours before it was safe to retun and continue their vote to certify the election. To somehow believe they were not aware of the extent of what was going on and the attrocity of what had been committed is ludicrious. They had time to see the livestreaming of the violence. they had time to talk to their fellow congress people. They could see with their own eyes the extent of the damage to their joint-member sanctum and public offices including human feces left behind.
147 Members of Congress returned to the joint chambers of congress and Voted Against Certifying the Election. Not only that but, they continue to this day to propagate the Big Lie that led to the attack. That’s NOT because they Love their country. That’s because they’re addicted to Power and will do anything to hold onto it! They believe they can WIN by staying loyal to the Party of Trump.
The GOP was, many times in American History the Grand Old Party a great party led by our greatest president, Abraham Lincoln. However, the Republican Party has now degenerated from the GOP to the Party of Trump, POT. Yes, they’ve literally gone to POT.
Who Really Has the Power?
January 6th was, in fact, a direct, violent and murderous attack on our rule of law, on our democratic system of government and upon our duly elected officials of both parties. That’s a Total FACT. We saw it live streamed, in real time, by dozens of press crews from accross the nation and around the world.
Anyone who wasn’t loyal to DJT was branded a Traitor, vilified, ostracized and name-called by the president. We saw it happen over and over as people didn’t bend to his will, and spoke up or spoke out about things that went against their moral values. The same was true of DJTs most loyal partner, Mike Pence. When he was pressured to go against the due proccess of congress and do the will of DJT to overturn the election and didn’t do it, he was branded Enemy #1 and the bloodthirst mob wanted to commit violence against him. Trump supporters even erected a Gallows! This is TRULY HORRIFIC!!
Who Really Has the Power?
Our government was set up by the framers of the constitution to give the power to the People. Forces that are Greedy for More Power and control the levers of the people we elect to congress through financial contributions have usurped the Power of the People. They have slowly eroded that power away from the people through new precedents in our courts like Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission in 2010. That law declares that corporations are people and allows corporations to contribute unlimited money to congress.
It’s ludicrious to believe that the 146 members of congress who voted to not certify the election didn’t know what was going on. In fact, it’s almost certain a number of them aided and abbetted the plan to take our governmnet by force. Those 146 are still in power, working to expand their power, the POT and their radicalized political base. These 146 members, now known as the Sedition Caucus, must be replaced.
In our modern day and age we have access to many tools to organize in groups, not just in our neighborhoods and cities, but accross our country and even the world. We The People have more Power over our world and governments than ever before in history. However, we must reach a critical mass before significant change is acheivable.
One thing that the trumpists believe more than anything and which has led more than anything to their radicalization is that there is an evil shadow power they’re fighting against. Never mind that there’s no proof of One Evil Power behind everything. This overriding belief colors their lives and is used as a lever to propel them to some degree whether it’s in the voting booth or breaking into the halls of congress. This manipulation by the use of an known or unknown opponent to divide and strike fear into the hearts of believers has been used for millenia to control populations.
A New Way
Mother Teresa said one of my favorite quotes of all time: “I will never attend an anti-war rally. If you have a peace rally, invite me.” Mother Teresa understood the Truth. Fighting against anything only makes things worse. We must fight for the opposite. The “War on Drugs” didn’t work. Fighting against your obesity doesn’t work. Wishing for your desired weight won’t work either. You must work towards your desired weight. To acheive anything Great, you must work towards that greatness, night fight against your weaknesses.
The Secret
The Secret is that We The People Have the Power. We have vast organizational tools at our fingertips. A group is vastly greater than the sum of its total. We must not only wish for positive change. We must organize for it and work together. If you don’t think that the attack on the capital was organized, you need to think again.
We’re all called in this life to a Higher Purpose. If we ignore this Purpose we end up leading Hollow Lives. Our Higher Purpose can be as humble as being a good parent to changing our neighborhood, community, city or world. The highest rewards in life go to those who serve the most people whether that be a Jeff Bezos or a Mother Teresa. Your Purpose is found in your heart by what you truly care about.
We need to organize, not as Democrats or Republicans, FIGHTING AGAINST but as Human Beings WORKING FOR. We need to organize as Human Beings to Be the Change we want to see in our world.
