No-one is Perfect.

They say that hindsight is 20/20. I believe that the year 2020 will turn out to be a watershed year in the history of the USA and the world.

We’re waking up on a global scale and, as usual, the USA is leading the way albeit rather clumsily, oafishly and not without a little violence.

We are Human Beings

As a country, we’re not our elected officials. Even though the POTUS is elected by the people, we’re human and we can make mistakes. As a country, as a people, we have always learned from our mistakes and gone on to create something better. However, as human beings, we are not Perfect and we can fall back as well as advance in our humanity.

The world we currently live in, the world we’ve created, possibly much by default, no longer works for the greater humanity.

Especially in the USA, the culture of consumerism has consumed US as a people. We’re being eaten alive by our conditioned habits and way of life. We’re on a destructive path for not only ourselves but, our humanity and the planet as a whole.

Coronavirus has given us a chance to disengage with “normal”. We’ve been able to step back from our crazy work-a-day, rush rush, path to…. where?

We’re on the road to nowhere…

We’ve all had the chance to slow down the past few months and re-assess our lives and what’s meaningful to us. We’ve all had the chance to question our lives, our assumptions, our paths and goals and a majority of us have decided the old “normal” is not the way we want to live.

Technology and a fast-moving world have separated us from our selves, separated us from each other, separated us from living in relationship as human beings.

Deep down, we all long to be human again. We long to return to our authentic selves, our true humanity, to be Human Beings rather than Human doings.

Where Have Our Leaders Gone?

The USA has long been a leader on the world stage. other countries have looked up to us and aspired to be like us. However, with the election of Donald J. Trump, we’ve lost our way, lost our leadership and fallen very low indeed in our values and in the eyes of the world.

Calling out the US Armed Forces against the American people will go down in history as the final straw in the presidency of Donald J. Trump.

Use of force against peaceful protesters is not the correct response

Everyone is fed up with his grandstanding, ridiculous tweeting, hateful rhetoric and complete focus on himself rather than doing his job.

Using force against peaceful protesters who are protesting the use of force is absolutely the wrong response in a presidency littered with wrong responses.

Protesters have been attacked with tear gas, rubber bullets, lead pellet-filled “beanbags,” “flash bangs,” and stun grenades by police.

In an administration strewn with mis-steps, changes of course, hirings and subsequent firings and all other manner of chaos, there has been one constant. IMPOTUS Never Ever Admits he’s Wrong. He’s ALWAYS RIGHT.

In the eyes of his cult followers who believe, this makes him a god. They see him as perfect, more than a mere human-being. To people who value their humanity, he’s seen as inhuman, inhumane. Therein lies the problem.

During the BLM protests when all of the looting and chaos started, Americans wanted to be reassured. Assurance never came from the IMPOTUS, all they heard were threats against Americans. He never addressed us as a people, as a nation. His only concern was his re-election and how things would affect him.

As we’ve seen time and again, he took the opportunity to divide Americans instead of talk directly to us as a people and seek to unite us as a nation.

Our Humanity is What Unites us

Americans have been wrong about so many things in our past. Admitting our mistakes and asking forgiveness is the only way forward, the only way to heal. It’s time for healing in the USA and in the world.

At this time of uncertainty, upheaval and change, we all need to show our humanity. We all recognize that we’ve lost our humanity and we desire to return to our roots, return to authentic selves.

We all want to wake up to our authentic human potential, to our true existence as Living, Loving Human Beings.

Becoming Human and Admitting Our Flaws

The most blatant show of the president’s inhumanity, lack of empathy and being out of step with reality was his attack on peaceful protesters so he could get a photo op at a church holding up a bible.

He and other officials denied they used tear gas, rubber bullets and flash-bangs on peaceful protesters to clear them from Lafayette Square.

Yeasterday, the countries top military official, General Mark A. Milley apologized for taking part in the ill conceived photo-op and walking across Lafayette Square with the president stating, “I should not have been there,” “My presence in that moment and in that environment created a perception of the military involved in domestic politics.”

Thank you General Milley for admitting you were wrong. You were man enough to admit your mistake. Thank you for your service to our country and your bravery.

We are All United Through Our Humanity

The inability to admit your humanity, to admit your flaws and ask for forgiveness is a character flaw we can no longer abide as a nation. The world is waking up to the fact that We are All One, We are All United through our Humanity.

It’s very heartening for me to see every type of person out there marching with BLM for justice. I’ve seen tons of reform measures being adopted by cities all over the country to reign in the abuse of power by their police departments. I’ve seen the police themselves marching and kneeling with the protesters. Yes, we will come out of this in a better place.

We’re waking up to the fact that we’re all in this together.

We’re waking up to the fact that Cooperation trumps Competition.

We’re waking up to the fact that we can only Thrive Together.

It’s time to Move Forward Together. It’s time to unite in our desire for a Better World for All Human Beings. We’re in this Together. We can only solve it Together. Let’s Do This!
