QAnon — Conspiracy Theory, Hoax or Truth?
How the QAnon narrative is moving into mainstream America
Did you know that there were almost 50 QAnon supporters who ran for office as Republicans this year?
With people being stuck at home, membership in QAnon groups on FB has grown by 700% since the start of the pandemic.
You probably heard about the guy who drove across the country and shot up a pizza restaurant because he believed a QAnon conspiracy that the place was a center for child abduction and they performed satanic rituals in the basement.
In July, a 24 year old man was indicted on the murder of a reputed mob boss. His attorneys argued in court that he was motivated by QAnon.
The FBI says QAnon is a potential domestic terrorist threat.
In case you don’t know who Qanon is, QAnon has become the most influential voice in American politics that most Americans have never heard of.
Basically, what QAnon believes is that the people who run the world are all satan worshiping, child trafficking, democrats including Oprah and Tom Hanks who ritually sacrifice children so they can drink their blood which gives them satanic powers including longer lives.
They also believe that these satanists have infiltrated every area of our government including the FBI, CIA and DOJ.
I’ve even heard some of them say the Catholic Church and the Pope are also part of these satan worshiping group who controls the world and want even more control.
That’s all bad enough in itself. But, the most unbelievable thing to me is that they believe DJT was hand-picked by God to rescue the US and the world from these evil people and evil forces.
Then there’s Marjorie Taylor Greene, a QAnon conspiracy theory supporter who won a GOP primary in Georgia. After her win, the 🍊 one called her a ‘rising star’ of the GOP.
Without a question, this conspiracy theory is a growing force in US politics which is embraced by DJT and is being used as a political weapon to manipulate the masses of disaffected Americans looking for a Savior.
The effects of belief in QAnon theories
As you may be able to tell by now, I believe QAnon is a very negative force in American life and American politics. Is there any Truth in it? I imagine there may be some general truths lurking in the background of the QAnon world view. However, the effects I’ve seen exhibited by the people I know who have been converted to the QAnon world-view are negative in the extreme.
Of Cults and Cult Leaders
It seems to me that people who believe in DJT are cultish in the way they follow him and care not how corrupt he is, how many crimes he’s committed, how many obvious lies he tells, how many outlandish lunatic remarks he makes, how destructive his presidency has been or how corrupt the people around him are.
The IMPOTUS acts like a cult leader and has been on constant tour whipping up his Cult45 followers since he was first inaugurated into public office.
People in cults never believe it or notice it. They feel empowered and part of something larger than themselves. If you’re reading this and support DJT, have an open mind, learn more about cults and cult leaders. I admit I could be wrong about this but, if it looks like a duck, acts like a duck and quacks like a duck….. Donald Duck?
Is QAnon a Cult?
QAnon also acts like a cult and is now starting to gain momentum in the mainstream of American life.
It’s really crazy how some of my friends who were previously loving individuals are now spewing ridiculousness, lies, and hatred towards people (myself included) who question their crazy opinions.
When questioning them about their assertions, they’ve never been able to provide viable hard evidence of their claims. When questioning continues, they lash out with name calling and hateful assertions.
I can’t attribute their change in demeanor to anything logical at all besides their recent conversion to the QAnon world view. It seems that the stress of the Covid pandemic may have been too much for them, pushed them over the edge and “given them something to believe in”? It’s been truly scary to see this happen to some of my friends and at least one family member and I am unsure how to handle it except distance myself from them.
Are You Being Manipulated by Fear?
Whether you believe any of this or take sides in “the fight between good and evil”, especially in religion or politics, one thing is evident. We’re going through a period of great upheaval and change.
Lots of darkness is rising to the surface to be seen in the light of day.
We can either ignore it and try to push it back down into the unconscious darkness, get caught up in the blame game and fight about who’s right and wrong, or acknowledge it, discuss it as adults and decide what actions we personally want to take in the future to move beyond it and into a better world for all.
We all have light and darkness in us. We have choices to make in every moment about what to think, how we act and what we want to see more of in the future.
We can shine our lights of hope, joy, and love on our little corners of the world to keep the frequency of light expanding. We can send light out into the world to the dark places.
If we can learn to be more conscious in our thoughts, words and actions, the world will take care of itself and, in fact, it already does.
It sure appears that things will get worse before they get better. It seems like chaos and destruction are winning the day. However, that’s the way that evolutionary forces and energies work.
Birthing a New World
When things start to look hopeless, I think of the caterpillar that has to turn into a butterfly.
A caterpillar’s body starts to turn to jelly and the cells that protect it are rallied en masse to stop the process. However, there are cells in it’s caterpillar DNA called imaginal cells that are impervious to attack. These imaginal cells store the image of the butterfly, absorb the gelatinous mass that the caterpillar has become and transfigure that gooey mass into a beautiful butterfly!
At first these imaginal cells — the seeds of future potential, which contain the blueprint of a flying creature — operate independently as single-cell organisms. They are regarded as threats and are attacked by the caterpillar’s immune system. But they persist, multiply, and connect with each other. The imaginal cells form clusters and clumps, begin resonating at the same frequency and passing information back and forth until they hit a tipping point. They begin acting not as discrete individual cells but as a multi-cell organism — and a butterfly is born.
Imaginal Cells and the Evolution of Man
I find the idea of imaginal cells exciting and thought provoking. It’s our imagination as human beings that sets us apart. Indeed, everything ever created by man has first been created in his imagination. I would even argue that imagination is man’s highest power because it’s the beginning of all creation.
We have free will to imagine whatever it is we wish to imagine. However, we can get sucked in by the currents of fear projected across the media, the social networks and by the demagogues of the world who thrive on chaos and fear. They thrive by inciting outrage over perceived wrongs by our leaders and politicians. BEWARE any message that makes you feel FEAR or OUTRAGE!
It’s easy to get caught up on the Pendulum of Right/Wrong and get taken for a ride.
We can choose to opt out of that and imagine a better world, a world closer to Truth. We have to remember that we’re all creators with the power to create what we desire in our imagination.
We create with every thought, feeling and emotion we emit into the world. We all have imaginal cells within us that are longing to create at our highest potential.
We are all imaginal cells in the body of the world, the body of the Universe and our purpose is to live on the edge of the evolving creation imagining the highest and the best.
